What is typesetting?

With the advent of computers in most homes, typesetting has been replaced, for the most part, with the term “Desktop Publishing”. This is not accurate.

Typesetting encompasses Desktop Publishing as just one of its parts. Typesetting is the preparation of “Type” to enhance and/or create an image.

Most of our typesetting services are based on an hourly rate of $25 per hour.

The typesetting staff comprises over 25 years of hands-on typesetting experience in commercial typesetting, copy writing and proofreading. The department has provided camera ready artwork for such simple jobs as business cards up to and including multi-page tabloid newspapers. We have a 4-color process printer that handles short color runs with ease for those start-up business who simply cannot afford high print bills. It also gives these companies the opportunity to change their look without losing huge investments.
